After completing Medicine degree served the humanity as a Volunteer Medical Officer in remote areas of Pakistan. He moved to the UK with an aim to achieve the topmost position in the medical world. He has been working in NHS since 2005 and since last several years working as a Consultant Geriatrician/Rehab/Emergency Medicine in NHS. He was declared as an outstanding consultant in NHS in 2016 to 2019. He always believed in Learn, Earn & Return philosophy and when he was in a positon to return to his country. His people, he put his efforts & hard work from APPS UK & APPS UK Foundation platform to make a positive change in people’s lives. 

Dr Malik while working in NHS, he also continued supporting and serving the humanity. Dr Shakil Malik joined APPS UK in 2004 (The Association of Pakistani Physicians and Surgeons of UK) and is one of the founder member & Board member of APPS UK. The aim of the Association of Pakistani physicians and surgeons (APPS) of the United Kingdom is to build bridges among the doctors, dentists and allied health professionals of Pakistani heritage and promote the highest standards of patient care and education. APPS UK is the true representative of Drs, Dentist & allied health care professionals in the UK & cross the world.

Due to Dr Shakil Malik’s ongoing humanitarian services & passion to serve less fortunate people & to make a positive difference in people’s lives, Dr Shakil Malik was elected as a Trustee of APPS UK Foundation in 2014. Dr Shakil Malik has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility and ambition with excellent management skills. He has performed all tasks assigned with commitment and enthusiasm.

Dr Shakil Malik has demonstrated the ability to work under pressure and to plan and organize successfully to meet the deadlines. Dr Shakil Malik’s close attention to details has resulted in the rapid progress made by APPS UK Foundation. Dr Shakil Malik’s excellent interpersonal and communication skills have allowed him to develop good working relationships with the volunteers and trustees with excellent feedback.

Dr Shakil Malik is a great believer of equality and diversity and is equally liked by APPS UK F volunteers and trustees. Dr Shakil Malik established the APPS UK Foundation AJK Chapter and team with strong connections with Local community and AJK Health department, this has brought a revolution in AJK health department & a journey to improvement and best health care services started. APPS UK Foundation-a UK registered charity with a moto of advancing health, changing lives, it is run by a volunteer team of professionals. 

Dr. Shakil Malik was personally instrumental in collecting over £50,000 donation for APPS UK Foundation to perform Mobile Free Healthcare to 17000 people/year, Restore the Vision the project, Food for Homeless, Limb prosthesis to 100 people, Reconstruction of Homes in Kashmir after the earthquake and various training programs e.g. CPR training.
